Post Doctoral Researcher

McGill University

I grew up in Sao Paulo, Brazil, where my curiosity for how the brain works led me to pursue a degree in Pharmacy and later a PhD in Pharmacology and Neuroscience. Since then, I’ve spent over 15 years working at the intersection of toxicology, pharmacology, neurobiology, and behavior—focusing especially on addiction and rare diseases. My academic path took me to research institutes across Brazil, the UK, and Canada, where I’ve been proud to contribute to translational and interdisciplinary research at McGill University and the Montreal Neurological Institute.

Along the way, I became passionate about bridging science and society. I’ve led educational initiatives, contributed to international collaborations, and become a strong advocate for Open Science, diversity in research, and accessible scientific communication.

I’m now based in Montréal and continue collaborating across borders and disciplines, with an eye on innovation and patient-centred outcomes. I’m also passionate about languages (English, French, Portuguese, Spanish…and Italian is coming up!) —something that’s helped me build meaningful partnerships around the world.

When I’m not at the bench or in a meeting, you can find me visiting a new coffee shop for the first time, walking my best friend around (woof woof) or cooking!
